Southern Makers is an event that celebrates the best in creativity and design with artists that live and work in the south. The event activities, workshops, storytelling, demonstrations and maker bazaar explore and center on taking southern traditions in architecture, food, fine art, fashion and design and applying them in a modern sustainable world. We hope that visitors will learn a little something about why the south is a unique and creative place to live, discover and visit.

The Southern Makers event in 2017 will be held in Birmingham. Venue and date are to be confirmed. Please stay tuned for details.

Maker Questions

Applications for Southern Makers’ event in 2017 are currently closed.

If you would like to be notified of open call for the 2018 event, please follow this link to sign up to our email listing. We will send out an email to announce when open call begins and ends.

There is no application fee or booth fee to be a part of Southern Makers.

It is an honor to be invited to Southern Makers. If a maker is invited to be a part of this special forum, there is not charge for space. After all, there is no charge for being honored.

If you are selected to be a maker you will need to pay for two transient tax forms (one for the city and the other for the county). You will also be responsible for collecting and submitting taxes. The transient tax forms will be sent to selected makers.

High quality handmade goods that exhibit a level of craftsmanship, innovation, creativity, uniqueness, and originality.

Makers will be notified of selections via email in January, 2017. The emails will come from info@southernmakers.com. Please add this email address to your contacts to ensure delivery.
